guitars in march!

Caption: Who knew playing the guitar in March could be so carefree?

soooo, this week's been astonishingly good thus far. beautiful weather, lack of work, casual lifestyle, things are good. I've even written a song about it ... but first, a bit o' Debbie Downer news.

so, academically I'm much more suck than last semester. primarily Broadcast History, in which my average is a grand 60%. ew. I'm so dissapointed.

but what can you do! oh, and not to mention my hometown's recently become death town, but oh well.

Guitars In March

You sit you sit down on the yard
You strum away on your guitar
You sing of things I’ve never heard
Yet I understand every word
Your shades block your eyes
The blankets cover your thighs
And I’ve never seen you looking better
And baby, it’s not just the weather

[Chorus]
When the sun is out to play
Don’t want it any other way
The cold is gone, it’s not so hard
We’re happy here out on the yard
The grass is green, dirt’s red as Mars
And we’re out here with our guitars
Just being ourselves

People fly by with their suitcases
Briefcases, reports, it’s on their faces
They’re flying fast, too important
Though it all seems so redundant
We lead lives too, but we’re not the same
We know when to stop, playing that game
We know how to take our time and smile
Oh baby, won’t you come and stay a while?

[Chorus]

They’re running they’re running down the street
Look into their eyes, can they see?
They think we’re the fools, strummin’ away,
Just forgive them, they don’t know anyway
They’ve forgotten to breathe, forgotten to just be
Happy and carefree and sometimes relax
Like you and me
In March

[Chorus]

aiight, so that's that.

my dear Sarah Alward called me last night, it was amazing as usual. we're going to get married and move to a small southern town in France, we've decided. this is after we become disgustingly rich and famous, of course.

given the recent weather and turn of events, I suddenly don't feel like being in front of my laptop.

peace be with you,

Joel

P.S. does that sound hippie-ish or uber-religious? I don't care.
