the friday five, and a few more treats.

My life is spiraling downward... I couldn’t get enough money to go to the Suffocate Me Dry concert. It sucks because they play some of my favorite songs like "Stab My Heart Cause I Love You" and "Rip Apart My Soul" and of course "Stabity, Rip, Stab, Stab." ...And it doesn’t help that I couldn’t get my hair to flippy thing the other day like that guy from that band could do. Somedays.

Lyrics, "I Must Be Emo"

ha, thought you'd enjoy that. fun times.

so, it's a friday afternoon, I feel a wee bit crap, and a wee bit cool.

I really only want to do the Friday Five, so that's what I'll do. but first, please note my links and personal info have been mysteriously pushed to the very bottom of this page. it'll change soon enough - but just in case you were wondering. I'm suspecting it's because of that title "AHHH (with a million more H's)," but oh well.

1) Of the various cultures, ethnicities or nationalities you belong to, which most strongly do you consider yourself?

Oh, French, for sure. Well, my Acadian heritage, specifically. I mean, I was basically born into an anglophone household, but I've worked hard to re-gain my Acadian roots and French language, something of which I'm extremely proud. Oh, and I'm also proud to be white, though I'm not sure that's possible without coming off as a white supremicist, so yeah.

2) Is there a culture you cannot claim heritage from but which you feel quite close to?

I've always felt close to the actual French (from France) culture. When I was there last year, I felt I really ... belonged in some way, and I believe I'm going to live in Paris someday.

3) What's one language you wish you knew fluently?

Italian. Or German. I'm already learning Spanish, so that doesn't count. Though Italian is much more romantic than German, let me tell ya. And I love romantic languages.

4) If you could move anywhere in the world and be guaranteed a job, etc., where would you go?

Oh, my God! So many places! My love of big cities and nature... It's really conflicting here. Well, for my love of big cities, London or Paris, most likely Paris. Yeah, Paris. And if in the wilderness... I'd get a job somewhere really obscure in New Brunswick, with just me and the forest. And maybe my significant other. We'll see.

5) If you had a time machine, and could witness any one event without altering or disturbing it, what would you want to see?

Wow, this is definitely "hard question week" on the Friday Five. I'd truly want to go back and see the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. I mean, as macabre and perhaps "demented" as that sounds, I think it's an extremely significant part of world history, let alone for my own religion. Painful to watch beyond belief? Yes. Mind-blowingly significant and important? Yes.

k, so I haven't the patience for anything else. have a lovely weekend, who knows when I'll write you all next! you'll just have to wait and find out... much like a weekly radio show with exciting adventures!

striving for fame and everything else,

Joel
