au revoir Juin... HALLO JUILLET

holla! welcome to July 2006, my dawgz. might I just say my Canada Day was ultimately ultimate to the max? yes, yes it was.

I wish I could say this picture wasn't some random Google pic and actually came from last night's fireworks display, but I'd be lying. I did however get to see all of the beautiful fireworks last night from atop Fort Howe, thanks for my good friend Aaron the RPM (department that assigns Home Early) who let me off at 10PM. and oh, my new shift is 3:30-midnight... so queer. augh.

well, I last updated tuesday - let's go over (briefly) what's happened since then. wednesday was an extremely eventful day - I went to do my license test, which unfortunately went straight to hell. I arrived, and they asked me for my insurance papers, which were apparantly at home... so they rescheduled my test for July 12, 10 days from today. nervous? no, not anymore.

I had planned a date with Tish, but that went to hell faster than you can say "lies." (oops!) however, that night was Saint John Idol. there were like 120 people singing I believe, and the judges whittled (is that how "whittled" is spelled?) to the top 80... oh baby, I AM IN. check it out RIGHT HERE under 'July 26.' come and support me!

thursday, I went out for a massive walk at the Irving Nature Park (which includes walking to and back from Lancaster Mall for additional batteries for my camera.) here are a few samples of the shots I took on that very foggy day.

also on Thursday, Annika's house. a pleasure as always... watching low-budget Canadian produtions = fantastic!!!

Friday, slaving over and finishing up three scholarship applications... not a good time. that, and work, consumed my day.

AND YESTERDAY! Canada Day! woke up at 7AM to get ready for the big Grand Bay Canada Day race! it was hot as all hell, and so I decided to go the 10K, it was death. however, I still kicked ass! first in my age category, and 13th overall (out of 117 people, holla! my parents also did phenomeonally well.) we then went out to Harding's Point to chill at my uncle's camp for a while - I had watermelon and watched my little brother / cousins duke it out on inflatable floatation devices along the Saint John River. we took the ferry (by foot) there and back, it was such a gorgeous day, thank fuck I came back home for the summer.

work was a drag, but like I said I got home early. I ran from work to Fort Howe and saw the fireworks. then Katie was like "let's go to my cousin Phil's party," which ended up being a total blast, I loved it. especially trampoline throwdowns and other amazing stuff upon which I will not elaborate, because it was hot.

and here I am, on a Sunday morning. I'm not going to church, upon which I feel SO bad. but oh well! I was going to write a Friday Five, but eff that, I'm exhausted. I'm going to shower and start my day, because I work at 3:30 - sweeeeeeet.

welcome to the life of Joel Vautour.

Joel
1 - I almost went to see the fireworks with Dave AT Fort Howe.
But then we decided we could probably see them from my kitchen window, and got drunk instead.
:(
2 - Does that means you are officially performing july 26th?
If so, I am so there!
:)

OH EM GEE Joel, you're doing Saint John Idol. That is the singlemost hilarious thing I've heard all year. Hopefully I'm not working that night so I can come see you!
