jump into my life - the life of a 19-year-old not-so-average teenage guy caught between toronto and saint john, striving for fame, fortune, and everything else.

my summer is still well and alive and going strong

what have I been up to lately? well, after this shift, I only have 4 more shifts left to work here at Slavedent - er, no, now it's Slavedham Worldwide, they've changed the name. (it's actually Wyndham Worldwide, but you know what I mean!)

but right, 4 more shifts, then I am DONE. so I've been working alot lately.

ever since Wednesday night, when I went out with JF & Nicole, I've been chillin'. as us.

(us. = not "us," or "United States." it's an abbreviation for "usual."
example: "Back to business as us.!")

Thursday = picnic with Kelsey at Rockwood Park, followed by ice cream and a photoshoot for the letter "P" uptown. (yes, we're straight off of Sesame Street, as we take pictures of everything that starts with the letter P.)

Friday/yesterday = date with Katie, we had lunch in King's Square, picked up my packet for Marathon by the Sea, (which is tomorrow!) spun the magic wheel at the Running Room, went for a walk on Harbour Passage and talked at Fort Latour.

Today = woke up to the sunshine, blasted my music and chilled about the house, wishing I was famous, which will happen soon. I brought Ben to Jim Bob's, he used his bike, I walked/ran. Along the way, I was able to teach him traffic knowledge, i.e. looking for cars BOTH WAYS before crossing the street, and excusing yourself before passing someone on the sidewalk, (as Ben almost took out an old man.) and then we went to pick up mom, and when I walked back out of the CGAC it was torrential downpour to the death, and that was frightening.

so, now that you're up-to-date, I will indeed be coming back to Toronto in about 3 weeks or so! or maybe sooner? hm, I don't want to think about it, though I know I'll have to very soon.

more importantly: my friday five, now.

start, the friday five.

1) What was the bravest thing you have ever done?

Believe it or not, I've actually done some pretty brave things before. But things sometimes don't seem brave if you come out of the situation unscathed, which is kind of what happens to me I suppose.

I think the bravest thing I did was changing schools in Grade 5. That was really hard and scary, and I had a lot to lose. I did it though! And graduated from the same school.

2) Describe the meanest thing you have ever done.

I talk about people behind their backs sometimes, which I definitely shouldn't, because I know exactly how that feels. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there!

As to my knowledge, I've not done anything terribly purposely mean before... The only reason I ever would would be out of revenge. (Bom bom bom.)

3) Tell us about the nicest thing anything anyone has done for you.

My parents, they threw me a surprise party for my 17th birthday. That was the nicest thing, it really was.

However, lots of people have done many many nice things for me, so I am extremely fortunate, I have such lovely people in my life.

4) What was the most insane thing you have ever witnessed or done?

Haha! Well, I've done quite a few ridonculous things... The "roller coaster" incident in Grade 8 was pretty dramatic, having my security bar lift up on JF and I as we rode a roller coaster in Quebec City.

But more importantly,
I do crazy things every day. My life is simply too nuts to recall all the nutty things I have seen or done.

5) Describe the most "out of character" thing you secretly want to do.

Out of character for me? What the hell IS out of character for Joel!??!
...Well I guess I've always wanted to be an Olympic runner, but that's hardly unusual. Oh! Well secretly, if ever I was offered a recording contract but the record company said I would have to be country, I would TOTALLY do it. Yes, it's true. Does that count?

end, the friday five.

and that's all for now, kids!! thanks so much for reading.

oh, and Danielle, I know/hope you're reading this, you are such a fantastic (emotional) writer.
